IIA Nashville – Rethinking Internal Audit

Who’s ready to RETHINK Internal Audit? Then join Jo and the IIA Nashville Chapter on April 20th!
Here is the Keynote program Jo will be doing from – Rethinking Internal Audit:
When is a frog likely to survive – when it is put directly in boiling water or brought to a boil slowly? I bet I know what you’ve been taught, but I am here to tell you it is time to “unlearn” and “rethink” your original answer. And it is also time for us to “unlearn” and “rethink” our roles as Internal Auditors!
- Are you stuck in the traditional audit or compliance mindset that “finding” problems is your main role?
- Are you performing the same audits year after year because “that’s how we’ve always done it?”
- Are you asking uniform, expected audit questions or are asking critical questions about ethics and culture?
- Do audits sometimes feel like battles with your audit clients instead of a collaboration on improving the organization?
If you said yes to ANY of these questions, it’s time for some rethinking of how you go to work!
Learning objectives:
- Engage others with humility, curiosity, and problem-solving
- Unleash the power of gathering information (including ethics and culture information!)
- Approach disagreements as dances, not battles
